How a pet prescription refill works
Call us on 604-991-2745 or use our contact form a few days before your pet's medicine runs out. Tell us your pet's name, the medicine and the dose. We check your pet's record, and if a recheck is due we will let you know.
Please do not wait for the last dose. Some medicines should not be stopped suddenly, and a gap in parasite prevention leaves your pet unprotected.
Why long-term medicine comes with rechecks
A veterinarian can only prescribe for a pet they have examined and know. That relationship is what keeps prescribing safe. Pets on long-term medicine for conditions such as arthritis or allergies often need an exam and blood work from time to time to check that the dose still fits. All our blood work is run in-house.

New to our clinic?
If your pet already takes medicine prescribed elsewhere, bring the packaging and your pet's previous veterinary records to the first visit, along with a list of any current medications, supplements and diet. Can I refill my pet's prescription without an appointment?
Often, yes, if our veterinarians have examined your pet recently and the medicine is still right for them. If a recheck is due, we will need to see your pet first. Call 604-991-2745 to check.
Do you supply parasite preventatives and therapeutic diets?
Yes. Our pharmacy supplies prescription medications, parasite preventatives, therapeutic diets and medicines for ongoing treatment. We run a heartworm blood test in-house before we prescribe a heartworm preventative.
Why does my pet need a recheck to keep getting medicine?
A veterinarian can only prescribe for a pet they have examined. Rechecks, and sometimes blood work, confirm to us that the medicine is still working and the dose still fits as your pet ages or their condition changes.
How can I pay for prescriptions?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Interac debit and cash. We accept pet insurance. We provide the invoices and documentation you need to submit your claim.
