Privacy policy

Promontory Animal Hospital is a veterinary clinic at Unit 104 – 46193 Thomas Road, Chilliwack, BC V2R 6N7. As a private organization in British Columbia, we handle personal information in line with BC's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

This policy covers information collected through this website, promontoryvet.ca. If you have a question about your privacy, contact us on 604-991-2745, at info@promontoryvet.ca, or by mail at the address above.

You can browse this site without telling us who you are. We only receive personal information when you choose to send it to us through one of our forms: the waitlist, the new client form, the contact form or the appointment request on our homepage. Depending on the form, that can include:

• Your name, phone number, email address and home address
• A second contact person, if you add one
• Your pet's name, species, age, sex and health details you choose to share
• Your previous clinic, and whether we may request your pet's records from it
• Your pet insurance provider and policy number, if you give them
• How you heard about us, and your choices about reminders and photos of your pet

Form delivery. Our website forms are delivered by Web3Forms, a third-party form service, which sends your submission to us by email at info@promontoryvet.ca. Web3Forms processes your submission to deliver it, and its servers may be outside Canada, where your information may be subject to the laws of that country.

Google Maps. Our homepage and contact page show a map embedded from Google Maps. When a page with the map loads, your browser connects to Google, which may receive technical information such as your IP address and may use cookies under Google's own privacy policy.

Google Fonts. Our pages load their typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser sends Google a request that includes your IP address.

What we do not use. This website does not use analytics or advertising cookies at this time. There is no online booking system, no payment is taken online, and there are no user accounts. If that changes, we will update this policy first.

We use what you send us to reply to you, to set up your pet's file, and to contact you about your pet's care. We send reminders only in the way you choose, share photos of your pet only with your permission, and contact your previous clinic for records only if you say we may.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers who help us run the website and email, with your previous clinic when you ask us to, or where the law requires it. We keep information only as long as we need it for these purposes or as the law requires, and we take reasonable steps to protect it.

You can withdraw your consent at any time, for example to change how we send reminders, by telling us by phone or email. Under PIPA you can also ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it if it is wrong.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a privacy concern, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
